Derek Ryan Perfect Days

Carlow in rural Ireland, nestled below the county's imposing Mount Leinster has been the home for Derek Ryan from his childhood days; a place that has influenced his musical direction and creativity. Despite frequent trips around the world as a teenager, playing to sell-out audiences and having a string of chart topping hit singles, the youngest of a family of three never forgot his roots and those tunes that blasted from his Mother's kitchen radio. That childhood passion was further nurtured when his Dad brought him to fleadh cheoils (Irish music festivals) with the young Derek truly proving he had rhythm - winning two all - Ireland titles in bodhran and ceili drumming. This collection, containing his own original material, draws much from those experiences growing up in rural Ireland. In addition, living in a bedsit for a short period in London made him long for home and was where he wrote his debut single 'God's Plan', a track which has gone on to become a classic within Irish country music circles. Derek Ryan will be the first of the new age Irish Country movement to bring his music to Vinyl.
