While "Frank" received critical acclaim and was commercially successful in the UK, Amy Winehouse achieved international fame with her next album, "Back to Black". However, "Frank" remains a testament to Winehouse's early potential and artistry, hinting at the deep and soulful sound she'd develop further in her subsequent work.
The lyrics on the album display Winehouse's wit and clever wordplay, and they often revolve around the complexities of love and relationships. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2004 and also earned Winehouse an Ivor Novello songwriting award for "Stronger Than Me".
