Cork-based Ways of Seeing return with their highly anticipated second album, The Inheritance of Fear.

Following an eighteen-month creative surge experimenting with interfaces, plug-ins and virtual amps in a home studio, Ways of Seeing continue to expand their sonic palette on this sophomore release. The result is an infectious alternative rock sound layered with shoegaze, post-punk and indie rock textures.

Mixed by the acclaimed Daniel Fox, The Inheritance of Fear builds on the momentum of Ways of Seeing’s 2022 debut, End Comes to Light, which received radio play from Dan Hegarty and Tom Dunne. Influences ranging from Philip Larkin and Karl Ove Knausgaard to Whipping Boy, Protomarty and Microdisney fuel lyricist James O’Donnell’s bold and maturing artistic vision.

The new LP arrives after a triumphant run of live shows in 2024 and 2025, including sell-out performances at Whelan’s, Coughlan's and Mike The Pies, as well as a support slot for The Frank and Walters. With The Inheritance of Fear, Ways of Seeing mark a significant step forward, cementing their place as one of Ireland’s most compelling alternative rock projects.
